The Role
The Snowsports Manager is passionate about snowsports teaching and will be responsible for managing, inspiring and developing our Snowsports team. You are an exemplary leader who is highly organised, professional and demonstrates capability for bringing the team together to achieve both guest and Hokkaido Ski Club objectives. As a key member of a high-end boutique snowsports school, you are dedicated to executing efficient ski school operations at the highest level, coordinating training and delivering a world-class winter experience for international guests.
Here is what you will do
- Lead the Snowsports team effectively and provide support to instructors, ensuring they are fully motivated and accountable to deliver a professional guest experience at all times.
- Ensure a safe environment is maintained for staff and guests alike by ensuring our snowsports policies and protocols are adhered to by all instructors, staff and guests.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of instructor training programmes, such as induction training and regular instructor training.
- Ensure lessons are dispatched on time, and carried out in a professional way, ensuring the highest standards of guest service is achieved.
- Working closely with the Reservations team in the fair allocation of work and lesson levels.
- Conducting daily meeting’s – summarising safety, procedural and service points.
- Be responsible for managing any issues which arise during the day. This will include investigating and resolving issues where necessary and escalating any problems to upper management.
- Identifying areas for product improvement and enhancement.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, passion for teaching and professional growth.
Qualifications
- ISIA Fully Certified equivalent and ideally dual-qualified in both disciplines.
- Experience of working within a guest-focused environment is a must with previous snowsports supervisory experience highly regarded.
- Demonstrated leadership, customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Passion for teaching skiing and/or snowboarding, and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to manage and lead a team of instructors, and to provide constructive feedback and support.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
- Eligible for sponsored work visa or for working holiday visa (considered on a case-by-case basis depending on experience).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
- Available for the Full Winter Season from mid-Nov to mid-April
- Have an International Driving Permit or eligible for one.
- Fluent in spoken English.
- Additional conversational language skills: Cantonese, Chinese-Mandarin and Japanese are highly preferred.

As the face of Hokkaido Ski Club, you will be friendly and well-spoken with a natural ability to interact with international guests. Self-management will be one of your strengths as you answer guest queries, organise bookings, and resolve issues with minimal supervision at the customer-facing desk. You will work closely with the Reservations and Snowsports teams to deliver smooth ski school operations. Your adaptability and professionalism will see you succeed in this integral role.
Here is what you will do
- Provide guests with a high level of customer service and strive to exceed their expectations
- Assist guests with ski school inquiries and book services for guests via email, in person, and over phone
- Maintain and update guest database for pre-booked and on-site guests
- Inform guests of Hokkaido Ski Club’s programs and service details, and other resort information
- Process payments
- Carry out opening and closing procedures
- Run daily reports and complete general administrative duties
- Handle customer complaints in a professional manner
- Assist with coordinating on-snow operations
- Communicate and work together with other departments and various stakeholders as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
About You
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
