The Role

This dynamic role will suit someone who loves to help customers have the best holiday experience possible. As the face of Hokkaido Ski Club, you will be friendly and well-spoken with a natural ability to interact with international guests. Self-management will be one of your strengths as you answer guest queries, organise bookings, and resolve issues with minimal supervision at the customer-facing desk. You will work closely with the Reservations and Snowsports teams to deliver smooth ski school operations. Your adaptability and professionalism will see you succeed in this integral role.

Here is what you will do

• Provide guests with a high level of customer service and strive to exceed their expectations
• Assist guests with ski school inquiries and book services for guests via email, in person, and over phone
• Maintain and update guest database for pre-booked and on-site guests
• Inform guests of Hokkaido Ski Club’s programs and service details, and other resort information
• Process payments
• Carry out opening and closing procedures
• Run daily reports and complete general administrative duties
• Handle customer complaints in a professional manner
• Assist with coordinating on-snow operations
• Communicate and work together with other departments and various stakeholders as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned

About You

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong experience in customer service and sales
• Resourceful and have a high level of attention to detail
• Excellent conflict resolution skills and being able to maintain calm and composure in challenging situations
• Proven organisational skills and practical hands-on, problem-solving approach
• The ability to multitask as well as work under pressure
• Highly motivated and proactive with the ability to think outside the box
• Well presented with a friendly and positive attitude
• Reliable and punctual
• Computer literate and ability to generate reports
• Proficient in English and additional Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese language skills highly preferred
• Passion for winter with previous experience or knowledge of Niseko highly desirable
• Be able to obtain a valid Japanese Working Holiday Visa or have the right to work in Japan

Are you a ski certified or crossover ski/snowboard certified instructor with a valid ISIA or ISA approved license and would like to experience working in Japow? We are now accepting expressions of interest from experienced individuals who would like to join our team in Niseko for winter 2024/2025!

The Role

As a Hokkaido Ski Club instructor, you are dedicated to creating the most memorable on-snow experience and winter holiday for guests. You will share your passion for snowsports with your patient, fun and friendly nature. Your exceptional teaching skills and adaptability will shine through as you build rapport with our international guests.

About You

• Fluent in spoken English
• Additional conversational language skills: Cantonese, Chinese-Mandarin and Japanese are highly preferred
• Strong experience in customer services, sales and/or tourism
• Excellent people and communication skills
• Highly flexible and adaptable to client needs
• Works well within a team environment
• Self-motivated and organised
• Eligible for sponsored work visa or for working holiday visa (considered on a case-by-case basis depending on experience).
• Availabile for the Full Winter Season (December to March)
• Have an International Driving Permit or eligible for one
