COVID-19 Updates

Since early March 2020, we have been tackling COVID-19 in Niseko. We looked after our guests who were unable to make their ski holidays as planned and assisted them so that they were impacted as little as possible.  For those who stayed in Niseko during this time, we implemented more rigourous safety procedures in response to requirements issued by Japanese authorities and exercised greater vigilance in maintaining guest health and safety while continuing to deliver our services. All of our guests who returned home after their trip were healthy and deemed coronavirus free.

Our promise to you

We have been assessing and evaluating the situation here in Hokkaido since the onset of COVID-19. As government directives and regulations have been continually changing, we have been constantly reviewing our services and processes and mapping the solutions that we will apply to our business practices. The measures that are integrated into our service delivery are thoroughly scrunitised to ensure you feel safe and taken care of while continuing to enjoy our services.

Health and safety is our priority

The well-being of our guests and staff is paramount. We have always maintained the importance of ensuring the safety and health of everyone, whether it is during our snowsports programs, the provision of our concierge services or delivery of our other services.

Given that COVID-19 is now a part of our every day lives, we are taking additional measures to ensure the safety of all our guests and staff at all times during all activities to ensure that health is preserved and maintained, and is not compromised at any point during your holiday with HSC.

Our current COVID-19 measures info sheet can be found here.

As per the government’s 7 points for peace of mind, we have the following processes and procedures implemented in our operations:
  • Our staff wear masks, wash hands and engage in sanitary practices frequently.
  • Body temperature and health of guests and staff are checked and managed on a daily basis.
  • We will ensure that sufficient ventilation is maintained in any of our closed-space areas eg. vehicles and offices.
  • Our services are conducted in a private format to minimise close-contact settings.
  • Our vehicles, equipment and facilities are regularly sanitised and cleaned.
  • Guests are requested to practice cough etiquette and wash hands.
  • Information and updates on our COVID-19 safety practices will be provided on our website and in office building/s.

Winter season 2020/2021

With the 2020/2021 winter season approaching soon and government directives and regulations continuing to change, we understand our guests are experiencing stress and uncertainty. We are therefore introducing a COVID-19 cancellation policy so that you can continue to book your holiday with peace of mind.

Booking cancellations that arise due to COVID-19 related reasons will be eligible for refunds in the form of a credit voucher:

  • The border of Japan or the country from which you are travelling is closed and prevents your ability to travel to Hokkaido.
  • You are tested positive for COVID-19 and all guests in your same booking are placed under mandatory quarantine (medical certificates and official government documents as proof must be provided).
  • A national or local government ordered closure of the entire ski resort.

For more details, head to our COVID-19 cancellation policy in our Terms and Conditions here.
