These last couple of months have been an unexpected and challenging time for us all. The Covid-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented times as the lives of people, industries and governments around the world have been drastically impacted.
Early Farewell to the Winter
The winter season here in Hokkaido finished earlier than usual as visitor numbers dropped with increasing travel restrictions. Niseko United Resort ran last lifts on Sunday 19th April after Japan announced a country-wide state of emergency. Originally, lifts were due to operate until early May to coincide with Japan’s national holiday, Golden Week. Spring skiing conditions in Niseko this season have been some of the best we’ve seen. However, the safety of our staff and guests is of utmost importance and we applaud the resort’s decision.
What we are doing at Hokkaido Ski Club
We are staying positive and continuing to work hard to ensure our guests will be able to enjoy the Hokkaido Ski Club experience once travel restrictions are lifted and travel to Hokkaido resumes. Preparations for next season are underway and we have been assisting guests with bookings already. We are also reviewing and improving our processes to ensure that the health and well-being of our guests and team continue to be an integral part of our service delivery.
Thank you for your support
We would like to thank each and everyone one of our guests for their support. Whether this was your first or eighth season with us, we are truly grateful. To those who have skied and ridden with us this winter, we hope you had a fun and memorable time. For those who unfortunately were unable to join us, we hope to see you very soon.
